Steps to Success at Carlton Baths!

It’s been an exciting few months at the Carlton Baths!

We successfully concluded the Deakin University-led  STEPS program to improve the strength and cognitive abilities in a test group of older adults!

Participants from sedentary backgrounds completed an hour-long session of cardio, weights and balance-based exercises across several YMCA health clubs, three times a week, with a Personal Trainer.

All participants across the study showed measurable improvements in muscular strength, and self-reported improvements in balance and muscular coordination.

The STEPS program embodies what we all believe at CBCC; no matter where you’ve been or where you start, with the right support and environment you can always improve from where you are right now.

The STEPS program may run again in 2015.

Until then, we welcome new participants to get involved at our centre! Our trainers can get you started with a Planning Session as soon as possible. Its a great environment with fantastic people.
