Women’s Health Week allowed us the opportunity to begin a conversation with our community around women putting themselves first and making their health a priority. Throughout the week we held a variety of accessible activities and encouraged women from the wider community to become involved and build social connections.

Glow in the Dark Spin and Yoga saw our members and instructors painted with glow paint and experiencing their usual classes in a different light. Breast Screen Victoria popped in to share some information around the free resources available to women in our area and this week was the perfect time to launch our inaugural Women in Sport program, an initiative designed to encourage and develop women’s participation and achievements in sport.

Women’s Health Week also gave our community the opportunity to give back through the collection of sanitary and personal care items to Share the Dignity Australia which provides on the ground support to women experiencing homelessness or domestic violence.

The week was a big success with plenty of positive feedback from those who attended. Carlton Baths will continue to build on initiatives like this to help break down the barriers preventing women from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
